Verena Streitferdt has over 10 years of work and research experience on the topics of energy efficiency: green building, fiscal policy & finance, climate policy and urban governance in the South East Asian context. In her PhD research she explored in how far the public sector can assist to optimise energy efficiency finance initiatives by analysing in-depth two energy efficiency finance programmes, one focused on ESCOs and one on banks. As a short-term consultant (since 2012) she has worked for organisations like Climate Works Australia, UNESCAP and the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Energy and the Environment. One of her recent work focused on the ASEAN member states and conducted a series of workshops, policy advisory and a study report around energy efficiency finance. She is also a recent DGNB sustainable building certification consultant and RENAC Certified Green Finance specialist.
Besides technical skills, Verena Streitferdt has also excellent project development, management and facilitation skills. Previously, she has worked as a team leader in Indonesia and technical advisor in Thailand for the German International Cooperation (GIZ) on the issues of climate change finance, cities and climate change. Areas of her work spanned from component manager to study tour organizer. Most recent assignments included a Study tour of Thai delegates to The Philippines on EE finance.
