Kinjal Shah Desai is a journalist who has worked with the media industry for about 13 years. Born and raised in Mumbai, her educational background includes graduation in Photography and Sound recording, post graduate in event management and journalism, respectively. She started as a content developer and production coordinator in 2005 and then moved to the field of journalism. She moved up the ladder from working as a reporter, to sub-editor, to correspondent, to principal correspondent and finally to being a features editor. She has worked for various newspapers and magazines including Mid-Day, The Times of India, DNA, Dalal Street Investment Journal and Femina, before jumping to the parallel field of journalism – public relations.
She is currently working as a media/communications coordinator for CEPT University in Ahmedabad for almost two years. She pro-actively helps faculty members and students to disseminate their academic and research work in local, national and international media as also across social media platforms. She has also delivered lectures and seminars on how to report and write news features for students of Nirma University and DEW School of Journalism.
