Mehdi is a PhD student in architecture (since 2020) and holds an MSc in Architectural Studies and a BEng in Architectural Engineering. His doctoral research explores the connection between architecture and diplomacy in the Modern era while his research interests also embrace the Medieval culture, literature, and architecture. Previously, Mehdi has worked as a translator of architectural and philosophical literature, a copyeditor of Persian manuscripts, and a professional researcher in the built environment focusing on compact cities, smart building industry, and BMS market assessment.
As GBPN’s Research Officer, Mehdi assists in conducting experiments and research programs. He recently engaged with a project on Principle-Based Responsive Regulation and its applications in policy reform to decarbonise the built environment. Additionally, he helps develop GBPN’s network of experts, educational resources, grant proposals, and policy packages.
