Muhammad Nur Fajri Alfata is a researcher at the Building Science Center of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR). His main research interest is energy conservation in buildings with the main focus on thermal comfort and passive cooling. Currently interested in research in the field of smart buildings and the InternetofThings(IoT)forbuildings. He obtained bachelor’s (S.T.) and master’s (M.T.) degrees from the Department of Engineering Physics UGM Yogyakarta and the Department of Architecture ITS Surabaya, and a Doctorate degree from Hiroshima University, Japan. While serving at the Ministry of PUPR, Ariel was involved in various research and development activities including international collaborative research, one of which was as the project leader of the 2020-2025 SATREPS. Ariel is a member of professional associations such as the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA) Chapter Indonesia, the International Association of Building Physics (IABP), and the Indonesian Association of Built Environmental Researchers (IPLBI). In addition, he is also active as a member of international networks such as LETCHI (Low Energy in Tropical Climates for HousingInnovation). During his career as a researcher at the Ministry of PUPR, his research results related to sustainable buildings have been published in various publications such as books (including book chapters), journals, and proceedings ofnationalandinternationalseminars.
