About 75% of the buildings expected to exist in India in 2030 have not been built. In this context, India offers a huge opportunity to avoid carbon lock-in associated with new buildings. To encourage and improve the new building stock’s energy performance in India, we work with organizations such as AEEE and CEPT University to adapt building policy Best Practices to India's economic and demographic context.

The Chinese Building Industry is experiencing an unprecedented boom as China’s economy rapidly grows. This has direct consequences on China’s green house gas emission (GHG) levels resulting from the use of energy in buildings. GBPN works in partnership with Chinese experts on specific programmes to help decision-makers craft building energy performance policy-packages that can improve the energy performance of new and existing buildings in China, and contain the growth of CO2 emissions from buildings.
