GBPN develops and deploys resources through our network of experts who provide experience and best practice knowledge to governments and by partnering with international organisations, governments, industry, research institutes and NGOs.
Global Alliance on Buildings & Construction: In 2015, GBPN was instrumental in developing the content and organizational development strategy for the Global Alliance on Buildings & Construction – a first of its kind coalition of 21 countries and public and private sector organizations formed under the auspices of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), GABC was launched at the inaugural ‘Buildings Day’ at COP21.
Fostering international collaboration on building energy codes best practices: The GBPN knowledge hub hosts the International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation’s (IPEEC) Building Energy Codes Portal, which details the status of building energy code implementation among 22 OECD, Major Economy Forum, and observer countries. The hub also hosts a directory of building energy codes experts nominated by their countries as points of contact for knowledge sharing and implementation support. This has been presented to over 1,000 policymakers through webinars, and disseminated to more than 20,000 policymakers worldwide.
Our current objective: Ensure that GBPN becomes the preeminent global community of practice for evidence-based sustainable buildings policy resources, expertise, technical assistance and learning
