Director, Monash Sustainable Development Institute Evidence Review Service; Lead Monash-McMaster Social Systems Evidence partnership

Associate Professor Peter Bragge specialises in translating research evidence into practice and policy to address challenges faced in health and sustainable development. This involves identifying, appraising and cataloguing research evidence; exploring the practice context through consultation with practitioners and policymakers and consulting on intervention design and implementation.

As Director of Health Programs for BehaviourWorks Australia, Peter manages partnerships with a number of government and other agencies. Peter also leads Monash Sustainable Development Institute’s collaboration with McMaster University in Canada to build Social Systems Evidence – the world’s largest evidence resource for the Sustainable Development Goals.

Peter has published over 80 peer-reviewed journal articles and a book titled From Roadside to Recovery: The Story of the Victorian State Trauma System. He has also written over 100 reports for government and industry including a review of community mental health initiatives for the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System; a review of health system responses to climate change for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a review of the co-benefits of sustainable building for the Global Buildings Performance Network (GBPN).
