UN Environment Program (UNEP) – Sustainable Buildings and Climate Initiative (SBCI)

Since January 2013, GBPN has become a member of the UNEP – Sustainable Buildings and Climate Initiative (SBCI). This is a partnership that brings together the main public and private actors in the building and construction sectors (companies, local and national governments, non-governmental organisations, research centres, international institutions, etc.). Its purpose is to bring a common message from these actors to promote the universal adoption of practices aimed at improving the efficient use of resources and energy efficiency in buildings.

Much of the work of the initiative focuses on knowledge and data development and the development of tools and strategies to assist decision makers at all levels in adopting sustainable construction policies and practices .

In addition, since the building is an essential part of the dynamics of cities, UNEP-SBCI collaborates with many international initiatives on cities.
