[Tool] New Building Rating Website: Redesign of the Leading Online Resource for Building Energy Benchmarking Policies

In its redesign, 4Site Interactive Studios streamlined the user experience so that users can find what they need quickly and with ease. Building Rating is now a fully responsive site, with a layout and navigation that adapts to a range of devices, from mobile phones to desktop computers.

BuildingRating.org has four primary features:

Learn about a jurisdiction – An interactive map reveals the jurisdictions (cities, counties, states, or countries) focused on improving the energy and water performance of their buildings. Clicking on the map will take you to a page with detailed information about a jurisdiction’s specific policies or programs.

Compare policies – The site’s interactive Policy Comparison Tool allows you to compare specific policy elements across multiple jurisdictions. You can export a policy comparison report as a CSV file that can be used in Microsoft Excel, or copy the report and insert it into a PowerPoint presentation.

Search for content – Use the site’s search feature to find important documents, news articles, announcements, blog posts, and graphics. You can filter your search by Location, Topic, and/or Content Type for more refined results.

Recent updates – Find relevant news articles, blog posts, and announcements sorted chronologically.

Building Rating remains free for any user to access. It is a joint initiative of two nonprofits that promote energy efficiency in buildings, the Global Buildings Performance Network (GBPN), and the Institute for Market Transformation (IMT) in the U.S.
