The recording of a white paper presentation by GBPN, in partnership with Ashok B Lall and Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH), is now available to view. The topic was Healthy Affordable Housing in India: Prioritising the Well-being of Occupants in the Design & Construction of Homes.

White Paper calls for Health and Climate Resilience in Affordable Housing in India

In a recent webinar co-hosted by the Global Buildings Performance Network (GBPN) and Affordable Housing in India (ABLA), experts emphasised the unprecedented opportunity India has to incorporate health and climate resilience standards into the design of affordable homes and neighbourhoods. The webinar discussed a White Paper, produced by GBPN and ABLA in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH), which offers valuable recommendations for upgrading building codes and regulations to address these pressing concerns.

The White Paper looks at defining healthy affordable homes in the Indian context, identifies opportunities and recommendations for climate change mitigation and adaptation in the built sector.  The White Paper is intended for consideration in the National Building Code revision.
